We recently received a request for information on stones and herbs that would be magical aids for pregnancy and childbirth, and thought it was such a good topic we might as well share!
Now, before we go to far I must emphasize that this is not medical advice, and should not be taken as such. Always make sure you are seeking appropriate care for you and your child.
Now since we are avoiding medical advice, I will shy away from telling you to consume anything without seeking the advice of a physician or midwife, although the herbs listed above were used by the midwives of old. But these herbs and stones can make some excellent magical mojo bags. And here is how.
You could of course make an gem water or elixir with the stones. I usually recommend putting the stones in a small glass container and that glass container in a larger container with distilled or spring water (the stones never physically touch the water). The energy from the stones will infuse the water when left in the moonlight overnight. The energy from the stones will enter your system through drinking or bathing in the water.
You could also place these stones on your skin as you sit or lay down to meditate, at or near your abdomen, or on your heart chakra.
A powerful stone for connecting to the “grid of the Universe“, Prehnite is a stone for getting answers and calming fears.
Associated with the Archangel Raphael, Prehinite invites a calm state, and is very good at connecting to higher powers. Prehinite can be used in meditation to help facilitate with “incompatible” spirits and under the direction of the user, to reconcile those energies. It is said to enhance your protections, and also to aid in divination, prophesy and inspiration.
Prehinite is excellent in a healing garden, or add Prehinite to the soil in house plants to encourage a healing atmosphere in the home. Do this especially to help with nightmares, phobias and hyperactive children.
Use as a gem water or in a sachet is said to help with gout and issues with the connective tissue.
Prehnite vibrates to the G musical note. Use a tuning fork, singing bowl or musical instruments with the High E note to enhance the effects of Prehnite, and help energize the stone.
We all have things that we don’t need in our lives anymore, from fears and worries to aches and pains. Since we are closing in on a full moon, I thought we would highlight a way to help remove those obstacles from our lives.
You will need;
Begin this spell on the full moon.
Take the black paper and on it write the thing you would like to remove from your way. Try and boil it down to a single word or even a symbol if possible. Beware of trying to remove people from your path. You should focus your intent on removing the situations or limitations that might be causing you problems.
Fold the paper in half words or symbols in. Place on the dish and cover with black salt. If you are using banishing or scented oil, coat or dress the candle with it now. Place the candle on top of the black salt.
Pray over the salt and candles, firmly setting your intent. When you feel you have the intent firmly in your mind, light the candle.
Let the candle burn continually until the new moon. You will have to replace the candle as it burns down, do this with a small black chime candle, transferring the flame from the first candle to the next.
On the new moon, when the sky is at it’s darkest, blow out the candle with a last push to remove the obstacle your path. Take all out and bury the paper, remains of the candle and the salt. Wash the dish or bowl in cold water with sea salt immediately.
Now, while the moon is dark, and you have banished the obstacle is an ideal time to start a new candle spell. One for money, wealth, prosperity, etc. Let this burn to the next full moon to complete the cycle.
In this show I am joined by Sarenth Odinsson (Timothy Schneider) and several others at a panel discussion about Shamanism. We answer some questions including one submitted to me by listen Patrick Bonner, “Entering trance and the spirit journey. What kinds of methods do you use?”
